Call for Papers - "The Toronto School: Then/Now/Next

The McLuhan Centre for Culture and Technology at the Univeristy of Toronto is organizing an international conference on "The Toronto School: Then/Now/Next" to be held in Toronto October 14-16, 2016. The conference aims to bring together international scholrs to engage in dialogue on the origins, rise, decline and rebirth of the so-called Toronto School of Communication.  Discussion will focus on its major figures, including Harold Innis, Eric Havelock, Northrup Frye, Marshall McLuhan, Walter Ong, Edmund Carptenter, among others.  The Conference will also examine the extent to which the Toronto School has provided a legacy that continues to offer insights on crucial and systemic issues facing contemporary society across various disciplines.

The deadline for paper proposal submissions is June 30, 2016.  The full call for proposals is attached.
