Western Washington Univ. 2024 Speakers Series: Populations Rendered 'Surplus' in Canada

The Center for Canadian-American Studies at Western Washington University is pleased to announce an upcoming talk, the second of this year's speaker series. Christopher DesRivieres will present "Reconciling Our Built Heritage: The Decolonization of "100 Wellington" (Former US Embassy, Ottawa, Canada), a case study tackling the controversial “gifting” of the former
United States Embassy to the National Indigenous Organizations.

This talk is free and open to the public, via Zoom. It will be held on Tuesday, February 27, at 12pm Pacific (3pm Eastern).

ARCS Winter 2023 Issue Now Online

The editors of the American Review of Canadian Studies are pleased to announce to the Canadian Studies community the publication of volume 53, issue 4 (Winter 2023). In this volume, we feature pieces by 2023 Donner Medal winner Robert Thacker on Alice Munro and Willa Cather, 2023 Sulzner Award winner Robert Timko on the philosophy of Murdoch Mysteries, and an excellent array of other articles and reviews -- all free to members of ACSUS.

ARCS Fall 2023 Issue Now Online

The editors of the American Review of Canadian Studies are pleased to announce to the Canadian Studies community the publication of volume 53, issue 3 (Fall 2023). This installation is a special issue entitled "Beyond the Two Solitudes: Cultural Transfer in the World of Comics and bande dessinée" and guest edited by Chris Reyns-Chikuma, Sylvain Rheault, and Jean Sébastien. It features articles in French and English as well as exhibition and symposium reviews, a film review, and book reviews.

ARCS Receives the "Best Special Issue Award" from the Council of Editors of Learned Journals

We are thrilled to share that the American Review of Canadian Studies has been awarded the Best Special Issue Award by the Council of Editors of Learned Journals for the Fall 2022 issue (Vol 52, No 3 – “Social Services, Supports, and Well-being in Arctic Canada and Beyond"). The Council of Editors of Learned Journals is an international organization of about 450 editors of scholarly journals in all disciplines and affiliated with the Modern Languages Association.
